About Lake Retreat
|
Lake Retreat's programs and guests include individuals, families and churches as well as
organizations ranging from non-profit Christian groups to public schools. Over 15,000 individuals
from infants to retired seniors enjoy the many events and programs which we sponsor and host
during the year.
As a Christ-centered camp we strive in every way
to exalt and glorify our God and Savior Jesus Christ. Our passion is that every camper or guest
will see in our attitudes, actions and the awesome beauty around them, the Creator who made them
and gave Himself in the form of His Son to die for their sins and make the way for eternal life.
This is not a mission we take lightly, but sincerely and with effort. In our humanness we may fail,
but we hope that in humility relationships will remain whole and our testimony fresh as we demonstrate
the love that God has shown to all mankind in His Son.
The primary focus of our yearly programs is to reach the young of every new generation with the
good news of Jesus Christ and His gift of salvation. We strive to help each camper grasp God's
love for them and His life pathways as given in the Bible. Through interaction with staff, guest
speakers, games, activities and personal quiet times, the ministry and beautiful surroundings of
Lake Retreat draw campers to reflect on their eternal and earthly relationships. We strive to
make every young campers experience with Lake Retreat one which changes their lives for the better
and leaves with them with a joyful memory that never fades.

Every year, hundreds of people come to Lake Retreat with broken lives and hurting hearts. Guest
groups who use our grounds and the programs we sponser interact with these lives to bring new
insights, support, encouragement and healing. Retreats and camps move individuals out of the hectic
race of life and into a different environment which can cause them to see life and circumstances in
fresh ways. This different environment usually includes a quiet time, moments for reflection and
interaction with caring people who can "be there" when pain bubbles to the surface. Lives change
when people get away to places like Lake Retreat and we consider it our mission to touch every hurting
heart in some way, even it's only through an overdue rest.
The programs offered by Lake Retreat and its many users provide educational experiences regarding
spiritual growth, understanding nature and many forms of personal development. Groups use locally
and nationally known speakers and teachers who inspire, challenge and motivate their participants.
Lake Retreat sees "feeding the healthy" as central to maintaining that health and transferring to
new generations. At Lake Retreat we will always work to provide the kind of teachers and speakers
which can grow up the young, strengthen the weak and motivate the fit to become all they can through
Jesus Christ... again and again and again.
