Everyone Has a Part
Anyone who has been involved with Lake Retreat for any length
of time knows very well how vital the volunteer ministry is to the
functioning of the camping ministry. In fact, without the diverse
gifts, skills and sacrifices of Christ’s body Lake Retreat would not
be able to thrive, let alone extend Christ’s love to the thousands
of guests and campers who come here every year.
Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. The eye
cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot
say to the feet, “I don’t need you!”
1 Corinthians 12:14, 21
At Lake Retreat we understand the beauty of the “an eye
needing the hand.” It has enabled us to fulfill dreams otherwise
impossible. So, we are excited about our new emphasis on
matching needs at camp to specialized skills and willing hearts.
