What a great extravaganza! Our annual New Year's Eve Bash was an amazing success, thanks
to the presence of God's Holy Spirit and the teamwork of His children. We thank God for the
over 30 volunteers and staff who were willing to minister in the frigid, dry evening.
Byword, a hot worship band from St. Maries, Idaho, provided a concert and later
led over 250 people in worship. God used them, along with speaker Jeremy Taylor, Youth
Pastor at Immanuel Baptist in Hoquiam, to bring about change in many who were in attendance.
Four students responded to the invitation to accept Jesus Christ as leader of their lives.
Over 60 Christian students made decisions to use their lives for something "Bigger or Better"
in 2007. God is the only one who knows what other decisions were made that night. Praise Him!

Father/Son Retreat, coming March 2-4, 2007
Gary Stanton, Associate Pastor at Faith Baptist in Kent, is the speaker. He is excited to challenge dads and sons to work together to accomplish God's best plan in their relationship. He will focus on dad as:
- Provider
- Sage
- Warrior
- Mentor
During the retreat, dads will experience these roles with their sons as well as how to build these abilities into their sons as they grow up.

A brief bio…
Pastor Gary Stanton grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and came to the west coast to join the US Navy for 4 years…actually, his wife of 26 years, Donna Mae, says he never really grew up! After graduating from San Diego State University with an Accounting degree, Gary and Donna Mae ministered to American and Asian college students for seventeen years at various West Coast universities, while supplementing his income by working as an accounting consultant. Now the proud parents of four children and a foster son, Pastor Gary ministers in Kent, Washington, at Faith Baptist Church. His speaking style includes generous doses of very bad humor…just pretend to like it…it makes him feel good about himself!
Encourage your men and their boys to attend this great event. Lives will be transformed and relationships made stronger during this retreat. To register now for this weekend on line, you may go to this link:

Quote |

 |
|
"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a
snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil,
know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy
Spirit to those who ask him?"
Luke 11: 11 & 12
