Parents, do you remember when you looked forward to going to camp, anticipating how cold the water was when
you jumped into the lake from the dock? Can you hear the sound of the oars slicing through the water as you
rowed your canoe to the middle of the lake? Those Bible lessons while at camp were just a little
more interesting and the new songs more memorable. On your way home from camp, did you sing the new
songs you learned at camp all the way home with your friends? Do you remember the fun of making new friends,
and then writing pen-pal letters for a while after you got home from camp? Most importantly, do you remember
some of the life-changing decisions you made at camp? Did you come to know the Lord at camp? Did you
dedicate your life in service to the Lord while at camp? Past studies have shown that a week of camp is
equivalent to two years of Sunday School when a child is taken out of the sphere of influence of the world
for a week. Christian Camping International conducted a survey. Those results reflected that 80 percent
of pastors and missionaries said that camp played a major role in their spiritual formation and call to
ministry. The Evangelical Free Church of America has determined that in the United States and its missions
around the world, Christian Camping has been the most effective way for leading children and youth to Christ.

| Slumber Party 2007 (aka Mother/Daughter Retreat) |
 |
 |
Come join us April 20-22 for a great time of bonding and relational growth. We will worship the Lord in song with
the leading of Maret Unruh. Angie Swanson, Women and Children's Ministry Leader from Faith Baptist Church,
will bring encouraging messages for the weekend. We will praise our Lord with music around the bonfire.
A movie night, complete with plenty of popcorn, will also be provided. During the daytime, activities will
include the rock climbing wall... "I think I can, I think I can...". We will be scrapbooking, soap making, beading,
and doing other crafts. For those not craft-inclined, activities will be scheduled so you can enjoy bonding outdoors.
Did I mention a concert by His Harmony? We always enjoy hearing this group of women, sometimes funny, sometimes serious,
but always sensational. This weekend will prove to be heartwarming, fun and a little crazy for all the moms and daughters.
We look forward to seeing you there. You may register on-line for the Mother/Daughter weekend; For more information,
click on the link to "Camps" below, or call Becky at 800-315-0093, or 425-432-4293.

| Farewell Dinner for Jack and Betty |
 |
 |
|
A farewell dinner was held for Jack and Betty Cooper, long-time leaders at Lake Retreat. Many of their friends honored
them during this dinner with personal testimonies of how Jack and Betty influenced their lives. They will be moving to
Michigan. Jack will be the new Guest Services Director at a Christian camp in Michigan, and we know that Betty will be
by his side as the great helper she is. They plan to be at that camp for two years, and then move back to the Seattle area.
We wish them safety and God's speed as they trek across the US in their motor home, and minister for the Lord in that area.
